Lineage and Family: Ya'quub, son of Ishaq (Isaac), was the grandson of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon them all. He was born to Ishaq and his wife, Rebecca (Rifqah). Ya'quub had twelve sons, who later became the heads of the twelve tribes of Israel.
Prophethood: Ya'quub was chosen as a prophet by Allah, and he received divine revelations and guidance. His prophethood is mentioned in the Quran, where he is referred to as "Ya'quub Alaihis Salaam" (Jacob, peace be upon him).
Struggle and Patience: Ya'quub faced numerous challenges and trials throughout his life. One of the most significant struggles he experienced was the separation from his beloved son, Yusuf (Joseph). His other sons were jealous of Yusuf, and they plotted to get rid of him. As a result, Yusuf was taken away from Ya'quub, causing immense grief. However, Ya'quub never lost hope in God's mercy and remained patient and steadfast in his faith.
Reunion with Yusuf: After many years, Yusuf rose to a position of power in Egypt, and through a series of events, Ya'quub and Yusuf were finally reunited. This reunion brought immense joy and relief to Ya'quub, who had longed for his son's return. It is narrated in the Quran that Ya'quub's eyesight, which he had lost due to excessive weeping over Yusuf, was restored when he smelled Yusuf's shirt.
Legacy: Ya'quub's twelve sons, known as the Twelve Tribes of Israel, went on to establish a great nation. They played a pivotal role in the history of the Israelites and the formation of the Jewish community. Ya'quub's descendants include many prophets, including Prophet Musa (Moses) and Prophet 'Isa (Jesus), peace be upon them.

Prophet Ya'quub serves as an example of faith, patience, and trust in God's plan. His story teaches believers the importance of resilience in the face of hardships and the ultimate reward of steadfastness in faith.
