Parentage
His real name was Sheikh Sharf Uddin, and his title was
Bu-Ali Shah. Sheikh Fakhar Uddin, his father, was a brilliant scholar and saint
of his time. Bibi Hafiza Jamal, the mother, was the daughter of Maulana Syed
Nemat Ullah Hamdani. In the year 600 Hijri, his father moved to Panipat from
Ganja, Azerbaijan. His pedigree included multiple ties to Hazrat Imam Abu
Hanifa. According to one story, he was born in Panipat, India, between 1209 and
1324 CE. His birthplace, according to an epitaph on his tomb in Persian, is
Ganja in modern-day Azerbaijan. His lineage may be traced back to Imam e Aazam
Nauman Ibn Thaabit Abu Hanifa.
He finished his education at a young age and taught for 20
years near the Qutub Minar in Delhi. He was ranked among distinguished
scholars, and top level teachers held him in high regard.
Absorbed in amazement: During his studies, he became
absorbed in amazement. He stood up, dumped all the books into the river, and trekked
into the bush, where he engaged in prayers and meditation.
During those days, the emperor of Delhi married a girl but
was unable to perform anytime he tried to get close to her, despite the fact
that he was physically healthy. For him, this was extremely irritating and
humiliating. Finally, he convened all of Delhi's scholars and informed them of
his peculiar dilemma. They couldn't figure it out because the ruler could
perform with other harem women. The monarch became enraged and threatened all
of Delhi's scholars that if they did not solve his problem by tomorrow, he
would murder them all. Bu-Ali Shah, a religious expert at the time, was also
one of them.
It was reported in that the emperor of Delhi had married his
own daughter, and that when he came close to her, God rendered him impotent. In
the past, the emperor married a lovely woman and later divorced her for various
reasons. At the time, the woman was pregnant. She sought refuge at the home of
an elderly launderer. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and died shortly
afterward. Because the old launderer had no children, he adopted the infant
girl and reared her as his own. Because she was attractive, the ruler became aware
of her beauty and married her. God saved him from committing a major sin
because of his condition. The following day, Bu-Ali Shah went to the monarch
and told him the entire event. The ruler then inquired about it and discovered
it to be genuine.
After returning to his school, Bu-Ali Shah tossed aside all
of his books and went in search of the dervish who had given him the written
message. On the third day, he discovered him; the dervish was the famous Sufi
Saint Khwaja Qutub-ud-din Bakhtiyar Kaki, Baba Farid's spiritual Master. Bu-Ali
asked him to take him as a disciple. Prayer and contemplation
He practised extreme penance and meditation, and stood in a
state of absorption in water for several days until the fish ate flesh from his
calves. He was meditating one day when he heard a voice. "Sharf Uddin, we
granted you your prayer, say, what do you want?" it said. "I need
none save you," he remarked. While I am standing here, I will sacrifice my
life in love." "Get out of the water, you have a lot to do for
us," the voice said again. "I will not emerge myself from the river
of love," he said. If you want it, go ahead and get it." He was
completely lost after saying this. In the trance, he saw a saint appear and
raise him up.
According to certain chroniclers, the saint was Hazrat Ali
himself. He then vanished after teaching him some celestial mysteries. He had
been lost in spiritual awe since that day. Heavenly light flooded his heart.
From then on, he was known as Boo-Ali Shah.
According to other chroniclers, he did not pledge loyalty to
a holy man but was welcomed directly into the fold by Hazrat Ali. Some
associate him with Hazrat Qutub Uddin Bakhtiyar Ka'aki and Sheikh Shabu Uddin
Suharawardy, while others associate him with the Mahboob-e-Ilahi.
His time in Panipat
He resided in Panipat till his death, where he served the
people. Hundreds of people received spiritual or supernatural advantages from
him. In addition, he committed to regular Islamic teaching and propagation.
Because to him, hundreds of people converted to Islam. The Rajputs who lived
nearby reaped the most benefits. He had a profound influence on Delhi's royal
family and promoted good behaviour to them.
Mysteries and Revelation
When a disciple of Shamsuddin Turk went to the city on an
errand, he witnessed Boo Ali Shah riding a lion and told his master about it.
"Go to the palace of Boo Ali Shah and if you find him riding the lion,
tell him: "The lion should live in the bush," Shamsuddin Turk
instructed his apprentice. The disciple obeyed, discovered Hazrat Boo Ali Shah
in this state, and relayed his teacher's word. He instantly got from his seat
and went to Ghote.

Mubarak 724 Hijri (1324 CE) at Budha Khera but was buried at Panipat.
